Shoppers are being urged to check their cupboards after six foods were pulled from shelves this week. The Food Standards Agency has issued new recalls, including a festive favourite that has been deemed a potential “health risk” for some consumers.

Customers who have purchased any of the products are advised not to eat them and to return them for a refund. Two products in particular have been flagged as a health risk due to the possible presence of plastic and bark. Here’s what you need to know about the latest recalls affecting UK supermarkets.

Flapjackery recalls Mince Pie Crumble Flapjack products

Flapjackery is recalling its Mince Pie Crumble Flapjack products after discovering that they contain almonds not listed on the label, which creates a potential health risk for anyone with an almond allergy. The recall affects the 170g Mince Pie Crumble Flapjack, the Christmas Towers box, and the Rudolph box.

The company has contacted allergy support organisations to alert their members and has issued point-of-sale notices explaining the issue and advising customers on what to do if they have bought the affected products.

The FSA urged: “If you have bought any of the above products and have an allergy to almonds (nuts), do not eat them. Instead, return them to the store from where they were bought for a full refund.”
