One home cook has shown the way they cook a delicious pasta dish without boiling it. Pasta, although it originates in Italy, has become a staple in many beloved British meals. Many people will remember eating things like a delicious pasta bake or a spaghetti bolognese when they were growing up. These dishes are so easy to make, especially if you are feeding a whole family. It is common to boil pasta, but it’s not the only way to cook it.
Not when you own an air fryer. These handy devices have become pretty common in UK kitchens over the last couple of years. They are used to make so many things using a lot less oil than other methods. People use their air fryers to make all kinds of dishes, including roast potatoes and even homemade pizzas. But you probably haven’t considered cooking pasta in your air fryer before.
This method is pretty straightforward and was shared on Instagram by foodie and content creator Alina Aamir. She simply adds her desired amount of uncooked pasta to her air fryer, using an air fryer liner to make sure nothing gets spilt.
She then adds cheese and seasonings, followed by a small bit of milk and some water. She makes sure to give it a little mix and then it is simply popped into the machine to cook for between 12 and 15 minutes at 180C.
However, she warns that the time can vary depending on how much milk and water you use, so you should check it throughout to see if it has cooked through.
If you want to cook it for longer, reduce the temperature slightly so the cheesy crust doesn’t burn. “Guess who’s never going back to boiling pasta,” she said.
People took to the comments section of her post to share their thoughts. One person said they tried it and it was “amazing”.
Another said: “I made a whole lasagne in an air fryer once.” However, others weren’t as convinced. One commenter joked: “One Italian does every time you cook it this way.”
