Primark has issued an urgent product recall as one item poses a danger to the public. The high street retailer is recalling the items from customers and urges them to stop using them straight away if they have purchased them.
They are recalling Primark Baby Bear and Balloon Soother Clips due to a choking risk. The Office for Product Safety and Standards say the item is not compliant with the relevant safety standards specific to soother clips. The straps are used to keep dummies or soothers close to babies by attaching them to their clothes or bib.
However, the item has been recalled from customers. The recall relates to the 2pk Soother Clips – Baby Bear sold between June and August 2025 and the 2pk Soother Clips – Balloon sold from March to September 2025.
They have a kimball number of 80010 for the Balloon version and 69489 for the Baby Bear ones. The Office for Product Safety and Standards said: “The product presents a risk of choking as it is not compliant with the relevant safety standards specific to soother clips.
“This means it may pose a choking risk to young children, particularly those under 36 months of age who have a natural tendency to explore objects by placing them in their mouths. The product does not meet the requirements of the General Product Safety Regulations 2005.”
They added: “The product has been recalled from end users. We recommend that consumers stop using the product immediately and keep it out of children’s reach. Return the product to any Primark store for a full refund.”
Primark has issued their own product recall warning for the items. The fashion and homeware store said: “Please stop using the product immediately. Please return the product to any of our Primark stores. It is not necessary to show proof of purchase.”
They said the returned product would be fully refunded. Alongside their warning, Primark urged: “We apologise for any inconvenience and concerns this may cause.
“Spread the word about this recall, especially if you know that the recalled product was offered, borrowed or sold to someone else.” If you need to contact Primark about the product recall email, help.uk@help.primark.com.
