How to remove stains from oven trays fast and naturally — no scrubbing

Baking trays inevitably accumulate stubborn, burnt-on deposits that leave stains after extensive use. This can leave the oven tray looking tarnished and grimy, potentially creating unhygienic conditions for food preparation. Whilst your tray might appear irredeemably damaged, there’s one natural solution that many remain unaware of, yet a professional cleaner swears by it.

When discussing natural cleaning agents, white vinegar and baking soda usually claim the spotlight. Nevertheless, there is another alternative that performs brilliantly on oven trays – liquid soda crystals. Posting on their Instagram account @thecleangroup, the cleaner behind the account shared a video showcasing a “professional cleaner’s burnt-on baking tray secret” requiring “no chemicals” and “no scrubbing”.

They captioned the clip: “I’ll be honest, this one blew me away. I thought there was no saving this tray.

“Meet the unsung hero of kitchen cleaning. It’s a chemical-free product that no one is telling you about.

“It shifts the wildest of kitchen grime and demolishes burnt-on grime. What is it? Liquid soda crystals. No one will believe you didn’t just buy a new one.”

For this cleaning method, you’ll also require one cup of baking soda. Begin by dusting the baking soda across the tray.

Next, pour in half a cup of liquid soda crystals and cover the tray with boiling water. Position the tray on the hob and set it to a gentle heat.

Allow it to bubble away for 30 to 40 minutes (until the most stubborn stains begin to loosen).

In the video, the tray was then rinsed, with all the accumulated grease and grime washing away effortlessly.

Cleaning enthusiasts in the comments were utterly stunned by the outcome and had no idea liquid soda crystals could deliver such remarkable results.

@jonesydoeshome commented: “What a great result! I never think to use soda crystals.” @mummycleans remarked: “I need to get some soda crystals now.” @rabiassaeed added: “Wow, looks like new.”

When one follower enquired whether liquid soda crystals would be equally effective on air fryer baskets, the cleaning gurus confirmed “Absolutely”.
