Argos shoppers rush to get Samsung TVs and new Sky rival at ‘lowest ever’ prices

Black Friday and the Boxing Day sales might be over, but now is still a good time to go shopping for a TV bargain. Argos is currently running a major January discount event, and there are significant price cuts on smart TVs, including models made by Samsung and others that feature the Sky-rivalling Freely service. For those not in the know, Freely is a bit like Sky Glass, with this platform built into the screen and offering access to live and on-demand content via an internet connection. That means no aerial is needed to tune into shows, movies and sports.

First up, let’s tell you about the Samsung deals. There are plenty of options available, including a 32-inch screen, which is now just £159 – that’s the lowest ever price at Argos.

This telly is fully smart and includes all of the most popular streaming apps such as Netflix, Apple TV and Disney+.

It gets an HDR LED screen, and there’s also a smart AI Energy Mode, so your TV adjusts the brightness depending on the content you are watching and the surrounding light levels in your room, to reduce overall energy consumption.

There are other Samsung TV offers as well, including money off certain models using the code QLED10. This knocks 10 percent off the overall price. For example, Samsung’s 50 Inch QE50QEF1AU Smart 4K was £449 at Argos but that cost has been dropped to £399 in the sale, then there’s that 10 percent off, bringing the cost down to £360. These offers are clearly proving popular with Argos confirming they are “in demand” and “selling fast”.

So, that’s some of the Samsung offers, but there are more deals to be bagged as well, including discounts on those Freely screens.

Right now you can grab a 40-inch Hisense screen with full Freely access for just £159 – that’s the lowest ever Argos price.

There are also eye-catching offers on the 50-inch Hisense Freely TV and the 58-inch display. As we mentioned before, these TVs all come with Freely built in, which means owners can watch via their broadband. Freely also offers a full TV guide, recommendations and the ability to pause live content.

Argos isn’t the only UK retailer offering price cuts. Sky has also slashed the cost of its Glass TVs with savings of up to £300. Sky Glass Gen 2 and Sky Glass Air are both available at lower prices plus there’s also money off Sky’s content packages as well.

For example, you can currently buy Glass Air for £225 (saving over £80) and then add Sky TV Ultimate for £22 per month (saving £13).
