Supermarket giant Aldi has revealed the best time to do your Christmas grocery shopping this festive season, and when to avoid heading to the shops. Christmas Day is a little over a week away, which means if you haven’t picked up all of the bits and bobs you need for the festivities, it’s time to get your shopping list sorted.
Whether you’re picking up something special for a Christmas party, making a last-minute outing for gifts for the family or picking up the full works for the Christmas dinner, now is the time to head out. To help you navigate the shopping chaos this festive season, Aldi has analysed shopper patterns to uncover exactly when customers should hit stores to avoid the festive chaos.
With supermarkets set for one of the busiest Christmases yet, Aldi revealed the quietest shopping windows so customers can dodge queues, get in and out quickly and actually enjoy the Christmas build up.
According to Aldi, the best time of day to head to the shops are between 8am and 10am, and 8pm and 10pm. These are expected to be the “calmest” times to shop across the country.
If you’re wondering which days will be the quietest, Aldi predicted that Sunday, December 21 and Wednesday, December 24, are the days you will want to head to the shops for any last minute Christmas essentials.
Rachel Geary, Communications Director at Aldi UK, said: “The final countdown to Christmas can feel overwhelming, but a little planning goes a long way. Visiting stores in quieter moments means a faster, smoother shop, so customers can focus on what really matters – enjoying the festivities with family and friends.
“That’s why, alongside our award-winning quality and unbeatable prices, we’re committed to making the Christmas shop as easy and affordable as possible.”
