Households have been advised on the smart way to clean their TVs ahead of Christmas. Many households use the festive season as an opportunity to get their homes sparkling before hosting guests for dinner and parties. One of those jobs is cleaning the living room where people will likely be sitting to watch Christmas films and festive TV specials. If you want your TV to be sparkling clean, then cleaning experts have revealed the best way to achieve that.
TV screens can get quite dirty over time. This can be caused by many things, especially if there are children in your house (sticky hands). The cleaning experts at Merry Maids have shared their checklist of tasks to complete before December 25, and cleaning the TV is one of them. Cleaning a TV isn’t one of the regular jobs you do in your home, so it can be hard to know exactly where to start. Here is everything you need to know.
The Merry Maids experts recommend using a homemade solution that is a 50/50 mix of distilled water and distilled white vinegar. “These aren’t urban myths like your Gran might’ve recommended back in the day,” the experts said.
“Our cleaning experts can suggest some effective DIY home solutions to this decidedly modern problem.
“The first one you might want to try involves using the materials you should’ve already attempted, along with another food product that most will already have at home.”
To start, mix 50% distilled water and 50% distilled white vinegar in a spray bottle. Give it a shake to ensure everything combines.
Then, spray this mixture onto a lint-free cloth, which you will then use to wipe the TV. Finally, wipe away any excess with a separate dry cloth to ensure that no vinegar remains on the TV.
The experts added: “You could also try using a minimal amount of dish soap at a significantly lower ratio, as bubbles can easily get out of hand. Follow the same process: combine distilled water in a spray bottle, spray onto a lint-free cloth, rub in circles, then dry off with a dry cloth.”
Vinegar has a mild acidity, which helps gently lift stains from your TV screens without being too harsh.
