Lauren Preece, a member of the Facebook group, Mrs Hinch Cleaning Hacks, recently purchased a dehumidifier after being recommended one and claimed it dried her washing overnight.

She said: “Omg, I purchased my first-ever dehumidifier yesterday with laundry mode for that purpose exactly.

“Put washing on the airer last night and dry by this morning. Normally takes two days plus to dry. Thank you, Mrs Hinch followers.”

Lauren’s post was inundated with more than 100 comments from fellow Mrs Hinch fans, with many also claiming the device was a “game-changer”.

Louise Owens said: “It’s been a massive game-changer in our house.”

Anne Oyston commented: “I bought a secondhand one a year ago. It’s been brilliant for keeping everything dry. On every day too.”

Jackie Johnson replied: “My daughter bought a Meaco one, I was so impressed I got the same one.”

Angela McKellican posted: “I couldn’t live without my own dehumidifier. Definitely a game changer. I bought Meaco one from Amazon over a year ago.”

Louise Alice Wright even claimed she had saved money after ditching her tumble dryer for a dehumidifier.

She said: “Best thing I brought for drying washing just by switching it out from a dryer, I saved over £100 a month on electricity.”

Lauren said she purchased the MeacoDry Arete One 12L Dehumidifier & Air Purifier. She added: “It’s in the cupboard under my stairs, just in the room with the door shut and clothes on the airer. Costs between 4p and 6p an hour to run, so it’s a lot cheaper than a tumble dryer.”

The MeacoDry Arete One 12L Dehumidifier & Air Purifier costs £180 from Currys.

The dehumidifier has a rating of 4.8 out of five on the Currys website, with reviewers praising the item for reducing damp and helping to dry laundry.

However, some users claimed the item is quite loud and “not very powerful”.

There are other dehumidifiers available at a lower price point.

HUMILABS 12L/Day dehumidifier is currently £89.99 on Amazon while the Daewoo 12L Digital Dehumidifier is currently £79.99 at Robert Dyas.

Prices are correct at the time of writing.
