New Year’s Eve is finally here, and no matter what your plans for this evening are, they’re always made better with good food. Whether you’re having a chilled one or heading out to a friend’s, you really can’t beat a homemade snack, and baked camembert is truly one of the best.
The gooey baked cheese feels like such a decadent treat, and it’s so easy to make your own at home. One recipe shared on Don’t Go Bacon My Heart uses a very popular ingredient from 2025 to create an ‘irresistible’ dish that’s perfect for chilled evenings and parties alike. The chef has recommended adding hot honey to your camembert – one of his ‘all time favourite’ pairings.
Hot honey has been everywhere this year, and it’s not hard to see why. The sweet and spicy combination adds so much depth to plenty of dishes, and it pairs especially well with creamy, cheesy flavours.
You can buy it ready-made from supermarkets, but it’s also really easy to make your own, requiring just four ingredients.
Camembert is nothing without something delicious to dip in it, and the chef has recommended making some simple bagel chips, which he’s also shared the recipe for. However, you could also use sourdough, crackers or vegetable sticks.
Here’s everything you need to make this recipe.
Hot honey baked camembert
Ingredients – for the camembert
250g Camembert round Two tbsp honey Half tsp hot sauce Quarter tsp chilli flakes
For the bagel chips
Two bagels45g butter, melted Two tsp parsley, finely dicedOne garlic clove, mashed into a paste
Method
Preheat the oven to 180C/350F. Unwrap the camembert and place it in a small baking dish lined with baking paper. If one side of the camembert is more dipped than the other, place it dip-side-up (keeps the honey contained).
In a small bowl, combine the honey, chilli flakes and hot sauce. Score the top of the camembert in a criss-cross pattern, and gently press down on top to create a dip. Drizzle the honey on top, and place in the middle of a baking tray.
Slice the bagels in half, then cut into chips around 1/4 inch thick. Spread out on the baking tray, then combine the melted butter with garlic and parsley then evenly brush over one side of each of the chips.
Bake everything in the oven for 12-15 minutes, or until the camembert is gooey right through the centre and the chips are golden and crisp. The chips will likely be done around 12 minutes and the camembert 15 minutes, so cook the camembert for slightly longer if necessary.
