McDonald’s about to bring back ‘best burger ever’ – ‘better than a Big Mac’

McDonald’s has announced that a fan-favourite is returning ahead of the festive season, and not only that, but its comeback will also introduce some exciting changes.  The Big Tasty, which is often crowned as the fast food chain’s ‘best ever’ burger and said to be ‘better than a Big Mac’, is coming back to McDonald’s menu, and it will feature more choices for fans.

For the first time, customers in the UK will be able to order the Big Tasty as a single or double, with both patties available for upgrade to a quarter-pounder size. You can also choose whether or not to add bacon to your Big Tasty.

Other changes include a swap of Emmental cheese to white cheddar, shredded lettuce and a new toasted quarter-pounder bun, and those who order a double will get an extra patty as well as a third slice of cheese.

Altogether, the upgraded burger revealed to the Metro features a British and Irish beef quarter-pounder patty, two slices of white cheddar cheese, lettuce, onions, tomatoes and Big Tasty Sauce held together by a toasted sesame-topped bun.

Thomas O’Neill, head of menu at McDonald’s UK&I, told the Metro: “The Big Tasty has always been about bold, craveable flavour – and this year we’ve taken it up a notch.

“It’s still about that unique, smoky sauce fans know and love, but now with more ways to enjoy it. And no matter how you have it, each Big Tasty is crafted with even more flavour in mind – from the 100% British and Irish quarter pounder beeg patty, to the ruch, creamy white cheddar cheese, every bite is packed with serious flavour satisfaction.”

Both the Big Tasty and Double Big Tasty will be part of McDonald’s Christmas menu, which will be available later this month. A big Tasty Meal will be £7.99, while its double version will be priced at £9.49. The bacon add-on costs an extra 90p.

McDonald’s will also be introducing a new Happy Meal for Christmas. The new children’s option arriving Monday, November 19, will feature Mayo Chicken and The Elf on the Shelf. Make sure you’re fast, as it is only around for a limited time.
