Pigeons will fly away and leave bird feeders alone if you put 1 item in garden

It can be frustrating if you keep finding pigeons in your garden which can make things messy. But deterring them from your garden is easier than you might think – and you won’t cause any harm to them.

Pigeons in your garden can be annoying if they’re eating all the food from your bird feeder but there’s one way you can easily deter them. Over the colder months you may notice more pigeons in your garden – but while some birds may be welcome in your garden, you may wish to keep pigeons out.

By putting a pinwheel in your garden, this will create a visual disturbance with its spinning motion and reflective surfaces which will put pigeons off.

Birds in the tree says: “Pinwheels serve as a colorful addition to gardens and outdoor spaces. These spinning decorations attract attention with their vibrant colors and playful movement. While they’re often used for decoration, pinwheels also play a practical role in bird deterrence.”

To ensure the method works properly, you should make sure you put it in the best place for good results. You should also position the pinwheels near bird-prone areas and at varying heights.

It’s also important that you ensure to place the pinwheels several feet apart to enhance visibility which will result in the item being more effective.

The spinning motion and the sound produced by the pinwheel’s blades can deter pigeons, discouraging them from landing nearby. Bright colors and shiny surfaces on pinwheels make them hesitant to approach.

The unpredictable motion of a pinwheel mimics the presence of a predator, which naturally deters pigeons.

Pinwheels are a humane and low-maintenance way to protect your plants from pigeons without using harmful chemicals or traps. Placing multiple pinwheels throughout your garden increases coverage, making it harder for pigeons to find a comfortable spot to settle.

Birds typically feed on seeds, fruits, and insects. They form flocks and often rely on visual clues in their surroundings.

When a new object appears in their habitat, it may catch their attention and make them unsure of whether to land in your garden.

They can be known to carry ticks or mites, and can also opt to nest within your house, which can cause significant disruption and damage.

Pigeons can also dig up grass when searching for food so these birds could ruin your lawn.

To keep pigeons out of your garden for good, this easy method is one you won’t want to forget about.
