Christmas is just a couple of weeks away and one of the cosiest things to do is gather with friends or family in your local pub. From London to Devon and everywhere in between, popular pubs have gone all out for 2025 with fab lights and decorations.
The Churchill Arms in London has been tops for festive decor for decades – and 2025 is no exception. Its dazzling display of twinkling stars, Christmas trees and warm glowing lights really radiates the magic of December. A soft-lit moon-shape can also be seen on this historic pub situated in Kensington Church St, London – and inside the pub more beautiful lights greet customers. Elsewhere across the country, impressive Christmas decorations are also bringing many other pubs into full festive cheer, so it’s a great time of year to support your local.
In East Sussex, The Marine pub situated on 61 Seaside, Eastbourne, has turned the inside into a colourful winter wonderland – and the cosy venue has a Christmas meal menu costing a reasonable £32.50 (served until December 23, 2025).
This place has a festive grotto vibe and it’s a few streets away from the seaside promenade, perfect for a bracing winter walk after lunch or dinner.
The Queen Victoria Inn, located in Priddy, Somerset, also has a spectacular display for the festive time, making locals feel full of the joy of Christmas. The venue is described as “relaxed” and “quirky” by those who’ve visited.
Set in a rural location in a village surrounded by the Mendip Hills, The Queen Victoria Inn dates back to the 1800s – and with reindeer decor and festive lights covering the exterior, you’re sure to find yourself feeling festive after a visit to this pub.
Further into the South West of England, you’ll be blown away by the festive display at a Plymouth pub, The Fishermen’s Arms, which dates back to the 1700s – and it’s tucked away on the historic Barbican area.
Pub owner, Donna Phillips, said: “We have five Christmas trees in the pub, a 40-50ft tree outside with 8,000 lights on it, the pub has been very popular, and many say it’s the most Christmassy pub in Plymouth – and it’s truly magical.”
This “hidden” pub in the heart of the city of Plymouth is already full of charm, but December’s added festive wonder will leave you feeling warm and Christmassy – and the inside and the outside of this drinking spot is equally impressive.
Furthermore, this “country pub in the city” is renowned for its exceptional food, including Sunday roasts which get booked up well in advance.
At the opposite end of the UK in Edinburgh, The Queens Arms also offers “cosy seats, great vibes and all the festive feelings”, their Instagram page shows beautiful fireplaces with hanging Christmas stockings as well as some tasty-looking festive food.
In an Instagram post, The Queens Arms wrote: “Our Christmas menu is officially in full swing! Rich, hearty and made for cosy celebrations.”
