A Dubai-style chocolate bar has been recalled as it poses a health risk to customers. The Food Standards Agency has issued a warning to any person who has purchased the product.
Veira Dream of Angel Hair Pistachio Chocolate has officially been recalled by its makers Dimark Limited because it contains peanuts and sesame, which are not mentioned on the label. It makes the chocolate a possible health risk for anyone with a peanut or sesame allergy. Dimark Limited has issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers.
This explains why the chocolate has been recalled and tells customers what to do if they have purchased it. The official notice reads: “An inspection of the product revealed a potential consumer hazard: undeclared peanut and sesame proteins were found on the labeling.
“The product should not be consumed. We kindly ask you to return the product to the point of sale. The purchase price will, of course, be refunded to you. All measures have been taken to prevent such an incident in the future.”
The warning relates to products with batch codes 05052025 and 07042025. They will have best before dates of 5 May 2026 and 7 April 2026.
The FSA added: “If you have bought the above product and have an allergy to peanut or sesame, do not eat it. Instead return it to the store from where it was bought for a full refund. For more information, please contact Dimark Limited on 02088879696 or info@dimarkltd.co.uk.”
Veira Dream of Angel Hair Pistachio Chocolate is not the only product to have been issued a recall recently. Flapjackery is recalling its Mince Pie Crumble Flapjack products after discovering that they contain almonds not listed on the label.
The recall affects the 170g Mince Pie Crumble Flapjack, the Christmas Towers box, and the Rudolph box. Nutrilean has announced a recall of its Chocolate Brownie Overnight Oats after the presence of Listeria monocytogenes was discovered.
The warning explained: “Symptoms caused by Listeria monocytogenes can be similar to flu and include high temperature, muscle ache or pain, chills, feeling or being sick and diarrhoea. However, in rare cases, the infection can be more severe, causing serious complications, such as meningitis.
“Some people are more vulnerable to listeria infections, including those over 65 years of age, pregnant women and their unborn babies, babies less than one month old and people with weakened immune systems.”
Retail chain Dunnes Stores have put out a recall for its Sage and Herbes de Provence products due to concerns they may contain pieces of blue plastic, as well as large fragments of natural stalk and bark. These pose a potential choking hazard, meaning the affected batches are unsafe to consume.
