Over the past week, several food items have been recalled from shop shelves, with shoppers warned not to eat them. The Food Standards Agency (FSA) has released a string of allergy alerts, covering products like mince pies, cakes and freezer food, which could be dangerous if consumed.

Some of these contain allergens which aren’t mentioned on the label, and one is unsafe to eat due to the possible presence of salmonella. If you’ve bought any of the items, it’s advised that you do not eat them. Instead, you can return them to the place of purchase and receive a full refund.

Tesco Free From 4 Christmas Chocolate Flavoured Cupcakes

Tesco is recalling Tesco Free From 4 Christmas Chocolate Flavoured Cupcakes because they may contain milk which is not mentioned on the label. This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk constituents.

The product details are as follows:

Pack size: 220g

Best before: All dates up to and including January 17, 2026

If you’ve bought this product and you have an allergy or intolerance to milk, don’t eat it, and instead return it to your nearest Tesco where you can get a full refund.

Young’s Gastro Lemon and Pepper Fish Fillets

Young’s Seafood is recalling Young’s Gastro Lemon & Pepper Fish Fillets because it contains mustard, which isn’t mentioned on the label.

This means the product is a possible health risk for anyone with an allergy to mustard.

The product details are as follows:

Pack size: 270g

Batch code: F2 L5283

Best before: End of October 2026

Customers have been advised not to consume this product if they’re allergic to mustard, and return to the point of purchase for a full refund.

BOSS Sugar Free Persian Pistachio Nougat

London Wholesalers Ltd is recalling BOSS Sugar Free Persian Pistachio Nougat because salmonella has been found in the product. This recall only affects customers in England and Wales.

Pack size: 300g

Batch code:  140408

Best before: September 9, 2027

The FSA said: “Symptoms caused by Salmonella usually include fever, diarrhoea, and abdominal cramps. If you are experiencing these symptoms, you should stay away from work, school, or nursery until you have stopped having symptoms for at least 48 hours to avoid passing it on to others.”

Shoppers can get a full refund if they return the nougat to wherever they bought it from.

The Bakewell Bakery Shallow Brandy Mince Pies

The Bakewell Bakery is recalling Shallow Brandy Mince Pies because they contain milk which is not mentioned on the label, meaning it’s a health risk for anyone with an allergy or intolerance to milk or milk products.

Pack size: Six

Best before: February 2, 3, 4 and 5, 2026

The advice from Bakewell Bakery is not to consume this product. Instead, return it to the point of purchase for a full refund, and you won’t need a receipt.

Brookie Bakes Dubai Bar Pistachio & Knafeh

Brookie Bakes is recalling Brookie Bakes Dubai Bar Pistachio & Knafeh because it may contain peanuts, which aren’t mentioned on the label.

Pack size: 68g

Batch code: All batch codes
