Major supermarkets across the UK, including Aldi, Asda and Tesco, have issued urgent recalls on several food products following new safety alerts this week. Customers are being warned to check their kitchen cupboards and refrigerators for these items to avoid any risk.

This is due to packaging containing undeclared allergens, incorrect labelling, or other issues that could make them unsafe to eat. These problems mean the affected products could pose a serious “health risk,” warns the Food Standards Agency (FSA). Anyone who has purchased one of the products should avoid consuming it to stay safe and follow the expert advice below.

Aldi recalls Dairyfine Salted Caramel Filled Gonks

Aldi is recalling its Dairyfine Salted Caramel Filled Gonks because they may contain peanuts that are not listed on the label, which could pose a health risk to individuals with peanut allergies.

The Food Standards Agency warned that if you have bought the peanuts and have an allergy,  do not eat them. Instead, return it to the store from which it was bought, and you will get a full refund.

A spokesperson for the supermarket shared: “Aldi is recalling the above product from customers and has been advised to contact the relevant allergy support organisations, which will tell their members about the recall. The company has also issued a point-of-sale notice to its customers.”

The FSA shared: “If you have bought the above product, do not consume it. Instead, please return it to your nearest store for a full refund. You do not need your receipt. For further information, please contact Asda Customer Relations on 0800 952 0101.”
